You will need:
50 g Extra Merino Schaschenmayr yarn (100% Merino Wool, 130 m/50 g);
Knitting needles no. 2,5, no. 3 and no. 3,5;
On knitting needle no. 2,5 are cast on 128 stitches. Stitches are closed in circle and knit 2 rows with double elastic, after which it is knit with knitting needles no. 3 elastic 1 x 1 (1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch) – 3 cm and a row with all the stitches front.
Further it will knit with knitting needles no. 3.5. Is knitting 4 rows with all the stitches purl, then on 35 stitches from the center is knit according to the scheme, the other stitches are knit as purl stitches.
Starting with the penultimate row of the scheme will achieve reductions of stitches for the achievement of top of the beanie.
In diagram no. 2 are represented these decreases and their positioning on the beanie. The decreases consist of 4 gussets. Between each gusset will be 31 stitches. Decrease by every 8 stitches across 1 row: 2 purl stitches together, 1 knit stitch, 2 purl stitches together.
Knit 7 rows with decreases = 72 stitches, after that is carried out 4 gussets more from an knit stitch with decreases of stitches before and after this stitch. The front stitches of the previous gussets will be knit front up to the end of the work, without achieve reductions of stitches before and after these.
After 8 rows with decreases of stitches on the working needle remain 8 stitches. Working yarn is cut, leaving an long end. The end of the thread is passed through those 8 remaining stitches, tighten accurately and fixed on the back side of the work.
