Age: 6 years;
You will need:
100 g grey yarn (merino and polyamide);
Knitting needles no. 3.5 and nr. 4.5;
Knitting explanation:
The beret will knit circular.
On the knitting needles no. 3.5 are cast on 100 stitches. Stitches are closed in circle.
Knit 10 rows elastic 1 x 1 (1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch).
Further it will knit with knitting needles no.4.5.
Knit 1 row with all stitches front. For the gusset formation divide the number of stitches to 10 (a gusset = 10 stitches).
Then, then will knit 9 knit stitches, add 1 stitch from the thread between two stitches, knit front the 10th stitch = 11 stitches/ gusset. Will knit in this manner and the other gussets.
Follows a circular row with all the stitches front, without stitches additions.
Further it will knit a row with the additions of stitches and one without the additions, until a gusset will have 18 stitches.
Knit 4 rows without additions of stitches.
In the next row will be achieved decreases of stitches, symmetrical with the added. In each gusset will decrease 1 stitch.
Knit 1 row with decreases of stitches and one without decreases, until on knitting needle will remain 10 stitches.
Further, decrease stitches in each row, until we have on knitting needle 4 stitches.
Theose 4 stitches remained are knit with string ‘i-cord’ 4-5 rows more, depending on how long we want to be top of the beret. Stitches are closed.
The yarn is cut and fixed on the back side of the work.
I made this beret, it came out fine: https://antiplictis.blogspot.com/2020/04/basc-sau-bereta-tricotata.html
